A distinguished educational pioneer since 1927, Texas Southern is one of the most diverse and respected institutions in Texas and is one of only 11 HBCUs in the nation with a Carnegie Classification of R2 - High Research.
TSU seeks a Provost and Senior Vice President who will be a visible leader on campus, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research, student success and program innovation. Reporting directly to the President, the Provost serves as the chief academic officer of the University and is responsible for setting strategic and operational direction for the University’s academic affairs. The Provost will be a seasoned administrator with broad experience in higher education who can build upon Texas Southern University’s legacy while providing vision and leadership to fulfill the University’s mission to ensure equality, offer innovative programs that are responsive to global challenges, and transform diverse students into lifelong learners, engaged citizens, and creative leaders.
