Position Emphasis:

The University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus is recruiting in the Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine for an Assistant Professor with interest in thoracic oncology clinical/translational research and patient care. The Assistant Professor will be an active participant in the multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program. The final candidate will be expected to participate in the clinical thoracic oncology program which usually includes two full days a week (or four half days), outpatient clinics, rotation coverage of the once weekly multidisciplinary clinic and in-patient coverage, which is negotiable depending on certain circumstances (e.g., protected time for research). The Assistant Professor will be expected to attend the once weekly tumor board and clinical trials research conference, actively engage with the Thoracic Oncology Research Initiative (TORI), and collaborate with basic, translational and population research colleagues. Duties and responsibilities will include direct patient care and clinical research, plus an expectation to pursue original research beyond enrolling in already designed and sponsored clinical trials. Opportunities exist for K12 or other career development grants. We are supported by a nursing staff, nurse practitioners as well as several clinical research associates.

A highly competitive lab start-up package may be offered for a physician-scientist position, to be discussed during the recruitment process. In this case, the position can be restructured for the qualified candidate to pursue a combination of clinical work and laboratory-based research.
