The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.

This is a nine-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Rank will be determined at point of hire. The anticipated start date is August 2023. All engineering and engineering technology programs are accredited by ABET’s EAC and ETAC, respectively. The college has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a top tier Undergraduate Engineering program for the past several years.

Programs in the school have a strong emphasis focused on applied, Project-Based Learning (PBL) evidenced by the industry experiences of the faculty. Applicants with laboratory, design and build project experience are highly desired. This position will focus primarily in these programs:· BS Engineering with concentrations in Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Electrical Power· BS Engineering Technology (Applied Systems)· MS Engineering TechnologyThe successful candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and applied scholarship, based on the Boyer model of Scholarship. Successful applicants will have proven excellence, or potential, in teaching, scholarship, service, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Many opportunities for service exist both inside and outside the university. Applicants should have an interest and be able to teach at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels including thesis supervision and laboratory instruction.Applicants should have an interest to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in one or more of the following areas:· Fluid Dynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)· Thermal and Thermal-fluid Systems· Turbomachinery
· Renewable Energy
Applicants with experience in more than one area of need will be reviewed favorably.
