Position Summary:
	
Villanova University invites applications for an Assistant Director in the Office of Decision Support and Data Integrity, responsible for advancing the culture of data sharing, data stewardship, and data-informed decision-making, providing project management and coordination by performing duties/activities related to data collection, verification, reporting, analysis, and documentation.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost, the Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Data Governance & Data Integrity, the Data Intelligence Analyst, key business units, and the colleges. Primarily responsible for assisting with coordinating and supporting the University's internal and external cyclical annual compliance and ad hoc reporting and verification requirements, leveraging the University's newly built data analytics platform. This position will play a key role in developing comprehensive documentation and templates to detail the reporting standards, protocols, and processes, enhance efficiency and ensure accuracy as it relates to reporting institutional data. In addition, this position will assist in building and maintaining dashboards and analytical reports to support decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:	
•Coordinate and assist in the collection, verification and timely submission of external federal, state, ranking, and accreditation surveys in a timely and accurate manner by reviewing instructions or guidelines, communicating with pertinent operational areas, preparing, and verifying data for final submission.
• Review and maintain business rules and process documentation, and prepare data for the state, and federal rankings as well as ad-hoc compliance reporting. Support the formal review process of college or school-based rankings to improve the accuracy, integrity, documentation, and validity of all reported data.
• Support in partnering with operational data stewards in business units and colleges to create standardized and consistent data definitions, assist with the creation and maintenance of reporting process documentation and templates, resolve data issues, improve usage, and verify data accuracy and completeness.
• Leveraging the University data platform, develop queries to facilitate reporting and analytical needs of the office and the university.
• Identify, explore, and document legacy and new sources of data.
• Perform basic statistical analysis, such as descriptive statistics, correlations, and crosstabulations.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports.
• Assist in responding to ad-hoc data requests and projects.
• Serve on the Data Stewards Committee. Represent ODSDI as appropriate to other campus partners and groups.
Minimum Qualifications:	
• Bachelor's degree required in a quantitative discipline.
• A minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and consistency.
• Experience with cleaning and preparing data for reporting and analysis.
• Experience with SQL coding
• Experience using data visualization tool, such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, Qlikview.
• Experience with statistical software (i.e. SPSS, R, Stata etc.) and working with large data sets
• Ability to apply keen attention to detail in analysis and validation of data.
• Aptitude and willingness to learn new tools and software.
• Strong project management skills demonstrating organization, flexibility, initiative, good judgement, teamwork, trustworthiness, and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:	
• Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of three (3) years of related experience (e.g., institutional research, data analysis, etc.).
• Experience within a higher education setting or institution.
• Experience with mandatory external survey reporting, such as IPEDS, US News, Common Data Set is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of intermediate level statistics is highly desirable.
