About School of International Communications

The School of International Communications at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China is a top recognized Media and Communication School in China and Asia. The school excels in teaching, social impact, and interdisciplinary studies and is affiliated to the Department of Culture, Media and Visual Studies at the Nottingham UK campus.

Research at the School of International Communications is vibrant and multi-disciplinary. Our dynamic and collegial team is active in the fields of media and communication studies, film and television studies, journalism, mobile studies, and game studies. Our academics publish in highly-rated international journals and are the recipients of various international awards for teaching and research.

We have been graduating students for more than ten years and our alumni have continued their education in some of the world s leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, worked for companies like Google or L Oreal as well as having their creations broadcasted on HBO or awarded at the Busan International Film Festival.

About You

The School of International Communications at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China has entered a period of growth in terms of research activities, student numbers, and engagement with industries. We are looking, therefore, for talented scholars to join our friendly, vibrant, and collegial team.

The applicant should have an expertise and research interests in the following areas: Creative and Cultural Industries, Big Data, Film studies, Digital heritage, Digital Humanities, Media convergence, News media and journalism studies, Cultural studies, Gender Studies, Games studies and/or Celebrity Studies.

We value excellent educators, who are passionate about and innovative in their teaching and who can contribute to our high standards and broader teaching expertise in International Communications.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support

Salary will be within the range of RMB 429,906 to RMB 566,105 per annum, depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling support, first arrival & repatriation support, and international private insurance will be provided for international appointments. The post will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of up to five years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
