Organizational Unit Overview:

The Department offers an ABET-accredited BS in Engineering with concentrations in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Bioprocess Engineering. The department has a growing undergraduate student population, an MS in biomedical engineering program and MS in mechanical engineering program.

Job Duties :

One full-time, 9 month, fixed-term faculty position is available in the Department of Engineering at the teaching instructor or teaching assistant professor level. The primary emphasis areas for engineering faculty are teaching excellence, contributing to the research mission of the university, and service to develop the quality and reputation of the Engineering program. This fixed-term faculty position will focus on teaching and service. The position is a nine-month appointment with duties to teach four courses (or equivalent) per semester. Teaching assignments can range from core engineering courses such as introduction to engineering, engineering graphics, engineering design to concentration courses in specialized areas and possibly graduate courses. The anticipated effective start date is August 14, 2023.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Master’s Degree in an engineering field from a regionally accredited institution and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and service. Areas of teaching interest include freshman and sophomore engineering classes.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

N/A

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

A Ph.D.(or equivalent) in a relevant engineering field, biomedical, electrical, environmental, industrial/systems, manufacturing, mechanical, or closely related backgrounds. Priority will be given to those with professional experience and teaching experience. Demonstrate commitment to equity and diversity through teaching and/or public engagement.
