Position Summary:

The Department of Medical Sciences in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College is seeking an innovative and collaborative candidate for a 12-month, full-time, ongoing Assistant/Associate professor of nursing position. The successful candidate will serve as the founding coordinator of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track of the MSN Program, beginning January 2023. The Medical Sciences department is launching a dynamic masters in nursing program that will include the following four tracks: nurse executive leader, nurse educator, family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Under the direction of the MSN Program Director and Medical Sciences department chair, this faculty member will be responsible for the leadership of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track, and will teach within the MSN core and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track. Coordinator responsibilities include didactic, laboratory, and experiential curriculum development, preparation and maintenance of accreditation materials, and assisting with the attainment, management and growth of robust, cooperative clinical partnerships. Faculty responsibilities will include teaching, determined by faculty expertise and program needs, inter-professional education with other clinical programs within the school, student engagement, and service to the college. An ongoing or developing scholarly agenda in social determinants of health, health informatics, health equity, or scholarship of nursing education is of particular interest.

Qualifications:
Requirements for this position include: a doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field (DNP, PhD, DHSc, EdD or others) from an accredited college or university; master’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program; current unencumbered RN license in Illinois; minimum of 2 year of experience in nursing practice. Candidates with an established record of excellence in academic leadership and 2 years or more of graduate teaching; current certificate in APN with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), experience with online education preferred, and experience with curriculum writing, development and revisions in congruence with NONPF 2022 NTF Standards, AACN Essentials and CCNE Accreditation Standards strongly preferred.
