Job Summary:

Postdoctoral Fellow in PerinatalHealth Behavior

OSU CHS is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to support research on periconceptional and perinatal health behaviors, includingsubstance exposed pregnancies. This fellowship will be affiliated with theNIH-funded HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study. The idealcandidate will have experience collecting data from diverse pools of humansubjects, conducting data analysis, and writing manuscripts. The candidate willhave opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students; and will bewell supported in manuscript writing and presentations at national conferences.If interested, the fellow will also have support and opportunities for mentoredgrantsmanship (e.g., K-series applications).

Tulsa is a bustling small city, with an extensivetrail and park system, and extensive dining and shopping opportunities. As anacademic medical system, training and research are integrated with provision ofclinical care through specialty clinics and in our hospital setting.

Responsibilities:
Postdoctoral fellow willassist with the following duties:
a) manuscript preparation from existingdatasets
b) recruiting and retaining study participants in a longitudinaltrial
c) data collection activities with pregnant people
d) dataanalysis.

The fellow will have opportunities to coauthor multiple scientificarticles from existing primary datasets and write federal grants leveraging theresources and interdisciplinary connections, across Public Health, Psychiatry,Psychology, Neuroscience, Family Medicine, and Human Development and FamilyScience, among other departments.

Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp,feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
- Ph.D. in Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, or a related discipline
- Applicants must have good scientific writing skills with a solid publication record, clinical research experience, and strong quantitative data analytic skills

Preferences:
- Applicants with experience working in the field of perinatal health and substance exposed pregnancy, clinical experience (e.g., mental health), and/or previous study coordination experience on Federally-funded studies will be given preference.
