Administrative Specialist I

The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work is accepting applications for an Administrative Specialist I. This position supports the BSSW Program Director, program faculty, and students.  This position coordinates and performs complex daily activities and operations between the program director, faculty and students.

The following job functions include, but are not limited to:

    Provide administrative support to the program director including preparing correspondence, answering phones, review and preparing documents, organizing and maintain files, and other administrative duties.Assist Program Director to schedule meetings to ensure input into functioning and direction of the BSSW program. Assist with strategic communications for the program director and BSSW program.Field inquiries from prospect students to help assist program director and CSW enrollment office recruit highlight qualified, diverse applicants. Coordination of BSSW events including event planning and implementation and support to the program director.Provide direct student support by staying informed of program requirements and disseminating information.Provide processing support to the program director in regards to program budgets.Initiate travel authorizations and reimbursements to ensure forms are routed and approved in accordance with university and departmental policies.Responsible for the order of program related materials and instructor copies of textbooks to ensure that the program has the materials needed to function each semester. Process and maintain the BSSW sections of the course request spreadsheet to ensure adequate operation of the program each semester.


Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in education and experience combined.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2-3 years recent experience in a professional office environment.

Prefer experience interacting with senior level personnel in a business or academic environment planning and coordinating events. Experience with data analysis and report compilation is desired. Familiarity with The University of Tennessee, its policies and procedures is desired.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
