Job Description: 

 POSITIONSUMMARY

 The Check-in and CustomerSupport Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service andguest experience for all visitors to the Mid-Ohio Market. The position willcheck in visitors to the produce market and participate in related programs andactivities. The Check-in and Customer Support Specialist is expected to learnand follow all Mid-Ohio Market policies and procedures inclusive of Serv Safefood handling requirements and assist volunteers and customers with questions.This position will be responsible for greeting/checking in customers,performing clerical duties related to sign-in paperwork/ marketmessaging/tracking visits, developing signage for product limits, providing assistancewith food ordering, and supporting market colleagues with student producepick-ups.

ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS

Customer Support

Provides high quality customerservice inclusive of welcoming and completing the check-in/registration processfor all Market visitors. Assists visitors during their visit, inclusive of:helping them shop when needed, answering customer questions, and preparingstudent pick-up boxes. Resolves customer and operational problems in a timelyfashion. Works with Market leadership to implement program improvements forvisitors. Builds and fosters relationships with both internal and externalstakeholders. Interprets and responds to students and general public inquiriesvia phone, email and in person.

Clerical

Tracks all customer visitsusing a variety of systems. Develops & regularly updates product signage.Completes and maintains required documentation.
Assists in organizing,preparing, and stocking product received. Collaborates with market colleaguesto track inventory and assists in product ordering.

Community Engagement

Assists in conducting tours forvolunteers and the general public. Participates in
programs and events byrepresenting the Market and College at events. Promotes awareness of servicesthrough marketing on campus platforms and social media.

OTHER DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists volunteers as needed inrepacking of products; assists in warehouse and office as needed; ensures workarea is cleaned and sanitized in accordance with Serv Safe standards; attendsmeetings and trainings as required.
Hours may include workingoutside of a normal work week schedule as well as weekend availability on an asneeded basis.

MINIMUM EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School Diploma or GED withthree (3) years of experience working in a customer service or food/groceryindustry.

*An appropriate combinationof education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

State Motor Vehicle Operator'sLicense or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &ABILITIES

Knowledge of: food storage and Serv Safe standards;standard practices within area of specialization; communication andrelationship-building strategies; customer service and public relationsprinciples.

Skill in: verbal and written communication; maintaininggood public relations and excellent customer service; application of jobsoftware programs; general typing and administrative work; operating generaloffice equipment.

Ability to: appreciate diversity and work effectivelywith persons of varying cultures and backgrounds; develop and maintain positiveand productive working relationships with associates, supervisors, students,faculty, and the general public; answer routine inquiries in-person, by phoneor email; work independently, demonstrating initiative and follow-through, aswell as work as part of a larger team; demonstrate flexibility; maintainaccurate and complete work records including heavy use of technology.


USUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employeeregularly stands and walks for extended periods of time, and occasionally sits.Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Employeeoccasionally reaches with hands or arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels,crouches or crawls. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed visionwhen focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts or exerts forceof up to 50 pounds when moving market product, files, boxes and other materials.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Food storage and grocery environment in addition tooffice environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to theseenvironments. May work in refrigerated areas meaning exposure to temperaturesas low as 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Minimum Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or GED withthree (3) years of experience working in a customer service or food/groceryindustry.

Preferred Qualifications: Must be comfortable with technology, position requires using PantryTrak to check in Market Customers, and other platforms to track student usage, volunteers and inventory.
