Recycling and Waste Reduction Worker POSITION SUMMARY: As directed, this position is responsible for the collection and disposal of all solid waste and recyclable materials.Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: High School GraduateEXPERIENCE: Must be familiar with operating non-CDL trucks. Knowledge of recycling concepts and principles is required. Basic shop experience including the ability to assist in the maintenance and repair of waste management and recycling tools and equipment is desired. Must be familiar with the operation of various types of grounds equipment and vehicles.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Should be able to lift from 50 to 80 pounds. Must be able to withstand inclement weather. Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift.SPECIAL SKILLS: Some mechanical aptitude is necessary.OTHER: Must be able to work as part of a team, as well as without supervision. Must be able to plan and schedule routine tasks for timely completion. May make decisions about repairing equipment in consultation with supervisor. Needs to possess a valid drivers license.Organization
