Job Summary

The College of Education (COE) Dean’s Office is seeking a Management Technician to support and manage the implementation of assessment software in support of CACREP and CAEP accreditation, SPA recognition, PDE major review, and verification of clearances. The position involves managing the collection and analysis of assessment data for every educator preparation program including data collection from faculty completed assessments, student and K-12 partner completed surveys, and performance evaluation conducted by mentor teachers supervising students in all field experiences. The position involves providing technical training and develop training materials for faculty, staff, students and mentor teachers on the use of Anthology Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Implements assessment instruments developed by faculty (e.g., assignments, rubrics, portfolios, surveys, applications, etc.) in Anthology Portfolio.
  • Maintains a schedule of courses requiring assessments in Anthology. Tracks faculty completion of assessments and sends reports to faculty of the assessments they still need to complete.
  • communicates regularly with faculty, admin and /or professional mentors regarding the accessibility and timeframes for completing assessments within anthology.
  • Establishes and implements field experience evaluations in Anthology Portfolio. Populates Anthology Portfolio with field placement information (mentor teacher and school district data).
  • Develops reports each semester on the outcomes of unit and program assessments.
  • Oversees verification of student clearances in the Anthology system.
  • Provide technical training for faculty, staff, students and mentor teachers on the use of Anthology Portfolio
  • Create and maintain assessment software system training guides and video tutorials for specific audiences (i.e., students, faculty, staff, mentor teachers/site staff) on specific Anthology Portfolio tasks (e.g., course assessments, field experience binders, portfolios, applications, etc.)
  • Provide first-level technical assessment software system troubleshooting for students, faculty, staff, and mentor teachers/site staff for inquiries received via email, phone or walk-in.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluent in Excel including use of formulas
  • Experience maintaining and creating websites
  • Experience with effective organization and presentation of data
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely manner (meet deadlines)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member
  • Experience with culturally diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in an academic office on a university campus
  • Experience working with Anthology Portfolio
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel features such as the creation of pivot-tables and look-up formulas.
  • Experience trouble shooting complex software

    The starting salary for this position is $41,917, per the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
