Job Summary

This is advanced technical work in the preparation of plans, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities include the inventory, development, implementation, update, and maintenance of the University space management database; Development and maintenance of the campus master utility plans, topographic drawings, and site plans for the University using AutoCAD software; Development and maintenance of the University drawing and project archives and associated file plan; Develop and maintain a standard title block and CADD layering system for the University; Utilization of AutoCAD to develop, modify, file, and retain key drawings for the University; Create floor plans, signage layouts, etc., in support of evacuation plans and egress signage projects; review project drawings to ensure room numbering and signage designations are in compliance with current University guidelines; Oversee the completion of minor projects such as egress sign installations, moves, traffic line striping, etc., and assist with coordination and scheduling of utility locator services to support PA One-Call campus involvement.

Minimum Qualifications


  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of a CADD workstation utilizing AutoCAD
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of a space management database, such as Archibus or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience preparing CADD plans, drawings, and similar material.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Architectural Technology, Computer Aided Drafting Technology or equivalent degree with a primary emphasis on CADD
  • Formal education plus 2 years’ experience in operation & maintenance of a CADD workstation
  • Formal education plus 2 years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD
  • Formal education plus 2 years’ experience utilizing a space management database, such as Archibus or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to construction
  • 10 or more years’ experience in operation & maintenance of a CADD workstation
  • 10 or more years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD
  • 10 or more years’ experience utilizing a space management database, such as Archibus or equivalent
  • 10 or more years’ experience preparing CADD plans, drawings, and similar material
  • Formal education plus 5 or more years’ experience in operation & maintenance of a CADD workstation
  • Formal education plus 5 or more years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD
  • Formal education plus 5 or more years’ experience utilizing a space management database, such as Archibus or equivalent
  • Prior work experience in Higher Education or similar setting

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $47,472 per the AFSCME CBA.

Comprising five colleges - Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Graduate Studies - Kutztown University offers a diverse range of excellent academic programs to prepare individuals for successful careers.

Located on 325 acres in Kutztown (population:4,500), the university is 20 miles from both Reading and Allentown, 90 miles from Philadelphia and 100 miles from New York City. LVI International Airport is 25 minutes from campus. The campus is in a beautiful rural Pennsylvania Dutch community, an easy walk from the borough of Kutztown which has ample stores and shops to meet the needs of students.

Currently, 10,193 students are enrolled at the university from 26 states and 51 nations. About half of the undergraduates live in residence halls; the rest live at home or in nearby apartments. A well-rounded program of athletic, cultural, and social events and activities satisfies nearly every taste.
