JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Enrollment Management at UConn Hartford, the Academic Services Program Coordinator provides administrative and programmatic support for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Services and Registrar’s Office on the Hartford campus.

The Academic Services Program Coordinator oversees the academic schedule at UConn Hartford. They will also perform the large amounts of data entry and processing necessary for various scheduling and registrar functions. Incumbents in this position are expected to work with a fair amount of independence, but within the goals and objectives established by the supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently engages with faculty, departments, and staff to create the academic schedule of classes for UConn Hartford.
  • Schedules academic classes and final examinations, assisting in the balancing of available space with curriculum needs.
  • Processes registration requests for regional campus students, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of academic records.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves scheduling and registration issues.
  • Serves as a resource to faculty, administration, students, and others for questions and interpretations for matters such as student records, data, registration, and scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes information, draws conclusions, and presents reports and analyses as necessary.
  • Teaches a First Year Experience class to incoming students.
  • Supports students through the UConn Connects Program.
  • May recommend or develop modifications to practices and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of work assignments.
  • Responsible for additional duties as necessary to support the Director of Enrollment Management.
  • Performs administrative and related work as required.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Three or more years of related experience.
    • Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume setting.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude and ability to make decisions.
    • Proven organizational and planning skills, meeting deadlines, and high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong and efficient computer and technical skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with faculty and staff.
    • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to working at a large, diverse, and urban campus.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s degree.
    • Four or more years of experience working in higher education.
    • Experience working with PeopleSoft, EMS, Courseleaf, and/or similar scheduling software.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of recordkeeping systems and ability to be precise with quantitative data.
    APPOINTMENT TERMS

    This is a full-time, permanent position. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
