Assistant Director of Admissions for Hispanic/Latino Recruitment

Coastal Carolina University invites applications for an Assistant Director of Admissions for Hispanic/Latino Recruitment position in the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards. The Assistant Director will play a collaborative role in advancing the University’s strategic plan and meeting enrollment goals. This individual, with general oversight from the Associate Director of Admissions Recruitment, will manage the efforts focused on Hispanic/Latino student recruitment. Primary duties include but are not limited to, identifying likely sources of Hispanic/Latino students (high schools and community-based organizations) and cultivating relationships with those sources, as well as developing and implementing on-campus and off-campus programs designed to promote CCU to a Hispanic/Latino audience. This position will develop both web-based and print materials in Spanish. In addition, this position will also design and implement focused efforts to enroll Hispanic/Latino students.
Duties include but are not limited to:· Coordinates Hispanic/Latino recruitment with recruitment staff in assigned markets;· Develops and implements on-campus and off-campus programs designed to promote CCU to a Hispanic/Latino audience;· Represents the university and its programs to the general public at in-state and out-of-state recruitment events, including high school and college visits, college fairs, visits to schools and community-based organizations, receptions, interviews, information sessions, and presentations;· Counsels and advises prospective students and their families on all aspects of the admissions process, to include application requirements, deadlines, academic programs, and criteria for scholarships and financial aid;· Serves as the primary point of contact for Spanish speaking families;· Collaborates with the Enrollment Communication unit to develop print and electronic material in Spanish that will effectively communicate the CCU message and brand to prospective students and their families;· Develops a strategic communication plan to increase Hispanic/Latino student enrollment; and· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs is required. Fluent proficiency in both speaking and writing in Spanish, a valid driver’s license and safe driving record are all required. Prior experience in admission, student recruitment, student services and/or student life in a college or university setting preferred. Sensitivity to the needs of all prospective students and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and counselors is also preferred.

Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70/61122829/FTE-S00757P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $35,360.00 (minimum) – $50,394.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Must be willing to travel alone extensively and work flexible hours; overnight and weekend travel and work are required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs. Fluent proficiency in both speaking and writing in Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:
