Description Looking for an opportunity to locate & bring in new & amazing talent to the college? Pay Rate: $45,000 – 50,000 /yr
Schedule: M-F 8a-5p typically


Quick Glance of Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinates recruitment and employment related activities (i.e., job posting, reviews & pre-screens applications, schedules interviews, conducts references/background screening, participates in job fairs, coordinates job offers etc.) to recruit and retain the best talent available and position the College as an employer of choice.
  2. Ensures legal/compliant recruitment & hiring practices.
  3. Demonstrates a strong commitment to the principle of inclusion & diversity, working to enhance the diversity of the College community, and tracking/developing analytic tools to assist with this initiative.
  4. Develops sources of qualified applicants and builds a pipeline of talent for future/or unexpected hiring needs, especially for hard-to-fill positions and adjunct faculty positions.
  5. Engages, regularly, with social networking and other recruiting technologies and tools to connect with a broad and diverse talent network.
  6. Works with Deans & Directors to identify and develop WSU Tech students as internal Interns and potential hires.
  7. Becomes an expert in the Wichita community and marketplace to best understand the competitive talent scene and advise on our approach and recruitment strategy.
  8. Focuses on an exceptional candidate experience during the interview process and continues to build and evolve the process to enhance our image as Best Place to Work.
  9. Collaboratively consults with hiring managers to carry out a recruitment strategy that best aligns with the needs of the position-specific hiring process.
  10. Assists the VP People & Culture & Director of IED to develop & deliver training for interview team members on effective, legal, and unbiased interviewing techniques.
  11. Creates and maintains accurate and timely records and compiles statistical reports concerning recruitment, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. 
  12. Maintains and continually updates knowledge of recruitment best practices and legal responsibilities through participation in training, membership in local/national organizations, and the reading of professional journals and newsletters. 

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Needed:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, preferred. PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience of full cycle recruiting/talent acquisition experience required, with good understanding of employment laws and regulations. Experience with conducting new employee orientation & onboarding processes, preferred.Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as popular social media platforms, required.Prior experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and HRIS database, preferred.Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail required.Must have a high degree of professionalism, with a commitment to upholding HR practices and mitigating risk to the college.Must have a high level of interpersonal skills with ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Ability to function effectively with a variety of responsibilities and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively with all departments and management levels within the college, required.
