Position Summary

The English Language Learning program is seeking part-time TESOL instructors to teach evening in our English Basic Skills (EBS) program. EBS classes range from beginning to high intermediate proficiency levels and focus on developing language competency, life skills, and cultural knowledge. We are currently seeking instructors for classes in the Annapolis and Glen Burnie areas.

Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to give a short teaching demonstration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to teaching, instructors are responsible for: assessing and recording student progress and attendance, meeting required deadlines for submitting grades and other administrative tasks, and participating in department professional learning events.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in TESOL, education, or related field.
One year experience teaching TESOL or related subject.
Availability to teach two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday).
Experience working with populations from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Proficiency using computers and technology a plus.
Competency in Spanish a plus.
