The University of Florida invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Student Personnel in Higher Education position. Located within the Higher Education Administration & Policy program, the Student Personnel in Higher Education (SPHE) program builds upon a rich tradition of excellence in scholarship and preparation of student affairs professionals and leaders at the University of Florida.

This clinical, non-tenure track position will focus on dynamic teaching and effective leadership of the on-campus master's program. We are seeking a faculty member to join a collaborative, cohesive, and energetic community of scholars within the program and college that is committed to high-quality teaching, research, and service. The Student Personnel in Higher Education program is actively seeking candidates from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who will strengthen our ability to prepare tomorrow's leaders, reflect the diversity of our students and our nation, and collaboratively tackle the complex problems facing higher education.

Founded in 1955, the Higher Education Administration & Policy Program at the University of Florida offers an on-campus Ph.D. and online Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration as well as an on-campus and online M.Ed. in Student Personnel in Higher Education. The UF SPHE degree is a comprehensive program that integrates rigorous academic coursework with practitioner-based experiences, and enjoys a highly collaborative relationship with the Division of Student Affairs to create a seamless educational experience for students.

Responsibilities:

• Serving as the program coordinator for the on-campus SPHE master's program
• Advising and mentoring students in the UF SPHE master's program
• Collaborating with the Division of Student Affairs and other UF colleges to create robust graduate assistantships, internships, and research opportunities for linking theory and practice
• Teaching face-to-face and/or online classes at the master's level and potentially at the doctorate level if interested;
• Advising doctoral students and serving on Higher Education Administration doctoral committees;
• Participating in research, publications, conference presentations, and/or other scholarly activity in the area of higher education or student affairs administration; and
• Providing service to the university and profession

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• A doctorate in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or closely related field (ABD students are welcome to apply as long as their degree will be conferred by Fall 2023);
• Evidence of scholarship relative to student affairs and/or higher education administration (e.g., publications, conference presentations, research briefs, and awards)
• Demonstrated ability and/or interest to teach and mentor graduate students; and Active involvement in professional organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional experience in higher education administration, ideally related to program planning, implementation, and assessment
• Experience advising/mentoring students and developing meaningful experiences to guide student career and professional development
• Previous graduate-level teaching experience in courses related to the following areas: diversity, equity, and inclusion; student development theory; student affairs internship and practicum; and higher education administration. Specific courses taught will be tailored to the skills of the applicant.
