Job Description:
The Department of Statistics at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for two full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 16, 2023. Applicants will have a Ph.D. in statistics, computer science or related field. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests in data science, machine learning, and AI including fairness and explainability/interpretability of AI and statistical and algorithm foundations of deep learning. However, we are also interested in candidates from other research areas. Duties include teaching, research, and service.
This search is part of a campus-wide effort by the University of Florida to expand the role of AI in higher education and research (https://ai.ufl.edu).
