Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

This position will be a member of the Texas Southern University’s ERP team responsible for the support and maintenance of the ERP system. They will support several of technologies, including integrations with other systems as well as requiring excellent customer support skills. As a member of the OIT department this position strives to ensure consistency in communications, actions, and alignment to the strategic plan of the university. This position is also responsible for supporting the mission of the university by delivering technology, services, solutions and guidance to the students, faculty, staff, and the community in a professional, exemplary, service oriented collaborative manner.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Work with ERP Team and Stakeholders to gather requirements and provide solutions to business problems, including those that go beyond a technical footprint.
  • Support or administer ERP application, including monitoring, cycling, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage, maintain, and create ad-hoc queries and reports.
  • Automate manual or antiquated processes.
  • Develop new integrations and maintain existing integrations with other systems.
  • Support ERP upgrades and patching.
  • Accurately record, update, and document requests using the IT service desk system.
  • Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures, objects (such as tables, indexes, triggers) and functions using PL/SQL.
  • Support ERP upgrades and patching.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:

$97,093.00 - $121,367.00

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Information Technology, Business or closely related discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Have a deep knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (eg. Banner, Workday) in Higher Education.
  • Full understanding of SDLC.
  • Smart sheets / ServiceNow for project tracking.
  • System Integration (eg. Snaplogic, Boomi, or Mulesoft).
  • Complex systems and procedures automation.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in multiple disciplines. Acts as the ultimate subject matter expert in several professional disciplines and is the “go-to” expert on principles, methods and procedures. Requires the ability to create methods and approaches to handle unique situations.
  • This position should be categorized as not only an organizational leadership role, but also as a thought leader providing leadership to IT and non-IT departments through guidance.
  • Must have outstanding written/oral communication and analytical skills, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to communicate on both a technical and business level.
  • Must be proficient in IT project management.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, or Power Point.
  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
Skill in:
  • Banner ERP: Operation, and/or Administration, and/or Software Development.
  • PL/SQL technical skills and strong analytical analysis.
  • Banner Workflow, Ellucian Workflow.
  • eVisions. .
  • Blackboard/ Banner interfacing knowledge.

Work Experience:

Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.
Experience in Higher education a plus.

Working/Environmental Conditions:

  • Routine office environment.
  • Sitting or standing in one location much of the time.
  • Some stooping, lifting, or carrying objects light weight may be required.
  • Use of video display terminal.
