Are you interested in a career at the University of Tennessee? If so, the Career Gateway is a great way to get your foot in the door at UT. Career Gateway provides quality temporary support to University departments. CG employees have the opportunity to work in a campus department while continuing to look for regular positions on campus. CG assignments are located in UT departments in the Knoxville area and are available due to a vacancy because an employee is on leave, or because of an increased workload or special project.
 

Once your application is completed, you may be contacted if a position becomes available that matches your education, experience, and unique qualifications.

CG assignments are varied and can include many different jobs such as clerical/secretarial, office administration, etc. The majority of assignments are entry to mid-level clerical support. You must have at least one year of administrative/clerical experience.  Typically, work schedules are Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.

CG employees do not receive benefits and are paid on an hourly basis on the biweekly payroll. The level of pay varies is based on the duties performed and the assigned job classification.

 Qualifications: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required., 6 months to 5 years of clerical, secretarial, or office experience.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.

Organization.Time management.Attention to detail.Problem-solving.Technology.Independence.Computer Skills Preferred

Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, SharePoint.Database management.Calendar management.Proficiency with photocopiers, scanners, and projectors.Accurate data entry.Inventory and supply management.Editing and Proofreading.Accounting and Payroll Experience
