Coastal Carolina University is seeking candidates for a Director of Undergraduate Admissions. The Director of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the development and oversight of the recruitment and admission staff, as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures required to ensure the University enrollment targets are met for new undergraduate students. The Director of Undergraduate Admissions develops and implements a comprehensive plan to attract, recruit, and enroll a student body that supports the University’s enrollment goals. The position will continue to build upon the University’s success in recruiting and matriculating an academically qualified and diverse student body by providing strong, creative leadership in enrollment planning and a student-centered approach to recruitment and admission.
The Director is responsible for all new student undergraduate recruitment and admissions efforts. This position provides direct oversite to the admissions recruitment and counseling staff, which includes first-year student recruitment, transfer and non-traditional student recruitment, and the campus visit program and University Welcome Center. They will engage in long-term planning and evaluation as well as resource assessment and management.
Duties include but are not limited to developing and implementing an annual recruitment and enrollment plan to identify, contact, and enroll an undergraduate student body; directing the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate recruitment and counseling staff by overseeing the following units: freshman recruitment and counseling, transfer recruitment and counseling, application review, and recruitment and enrollment events; providing leadership and direction that support a high-touch admissions and enrollment process, as well as a high-quality campus event program designed to increase both student interest and enrollment. Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the performance of all direct reports. Overseeing the hiring and annual evaluation process for all staff. Supervising the development of budgets and expenditures for recruitment and enrollment activities and on and off campus events. Representing the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards and University at major functions both in- and out-of-state to promote the University to a variety of constituents in a positive and professional manner. Working closely with Deans and Department Chairs and non-academic campus departments to achieve departmental-level goals and to provide quality services that are consistent with the goals of the department and University. Managing the application review process by providing supervision and direction at the following stages: counselor review, committee review, and faculty admissions committee review. Modeling, promoting and ensuring exceptional service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large.
Requirements: A master’s degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experiences in admissions in a college/university are required. Must have experience supervising professional staff. Prior experience developing a strategic recruitment plan is preferred, along with experience developing budgets. CRM experience (preferably Slate) is preferred. Previous leadership experience at the associate director, senior associate, or director-level at a mid-sized or large institution is preferred.

Student Services Manager III (CB85/61121847/FTE-S00751P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 08. Salary range: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends to support University need. Must be able to conduct day and overnight travel with some trips lasting as long as one week.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Superior communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; supervisory and budget management experience in an admissions operation; expertise in facilitating organizational development and change; competency for analyzing recruitment-related data and assessing programming activities as part of a strategic enrollment planning initiative. Ability to form effective working relations with and coordinate the efforts of a variety of individuals and groups on campus: students, employees, faculty, staff, and administrators. Must maintain a positive attitude and be able to motivate staff. Must foster a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
