POSITION DETAILS  

Reporting directly to the Dean of Nursing, this role serves to provide the Dean with high-level administrative support and coordination on a variety of strategic projects.

This position will:

  • Build and lead the daily operations of the Dean’s office
  • Collaborate with individuals across Hunter College to actively drive the Dean’s strategic plan.
  • Work closely with faculty and staff to help the Dean build a clear understanding of the School of Nursing’s goals.
  • Provide counsel to the Dean, and guidance on sensitive personnel matters.
  • Ensure the Dean has the information necessary to make informed decisions.
  • Assist the Dean with the daily operations of the School and works closely with external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Dean’s Office liaison to ensure the accurate and timely flow of information to and from the Dean’s Office.
  • Work with the Provost office to initiate and complete College-related business
  • Oversee and manage special projects and initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience required.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Able to problem-solve and effectively operate within a large, dynamic environment with experience in senior-level administrative management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills especially in a diverse work environment
  • Proven track record in working both as a team member as well as independently with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in working with a wide range of staff with various skills and abilities and holding them accountable for results

VACCINE REQUIREMENT

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

- Independently carries out a portfolio of responsibilities under the Executive's purview, such as approvals, student interactions, and monitoring of key activities.  Manages communications within and outside the unit related to areas of responsibility.

- May serve as Manager of a large Executive Office.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience. ($67,784 - $117,805)
