The Mid-Valley STEM-CTE Hub (MVSCH) provides leadership, resources, and support to enhance and elevate STEM and CTE opportunities from cradle to career for Linn and Benton Counties. This position is an essential member of the MVSCH team, reporting to the Director, and is located in Albany, Oregon. The Education Outreach and Equity Specialist works to develop partnerships with educators in the two-county region and implement strategies to integrate career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training into the student experience in collaboration with P-20 education partners for regional workforce and talent development.
 

The Education Outreach and Equity Specialist is responsible for developing strategies and programs to intentionally integrate career-connections and readiness into the student experience with the goal of achieving equitable outcomes. They focus on engaging regional education partners to invest in career-related learning for students to develop local talent. Serves as a collaborative partner with a wide range of individuals and groups to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and create initiatives related to the career readiness of Linn and Benton County students.

Focuses on creating new opportunities for education partners to align existing efforts. Provides education partners with tangible ways to incorporate career connection into the classroom and out-of-school and informal learning environments, while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion and examining the barriers to access for underrepresented groups in the local workforce, included but not limited to: first-generation, BIPOC, high financial need, rural, girls, and gender minorities. They will practice equity, diversity, and inclusion in decision-making and communication and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive work culture.
 

This position will work to build relationships with regional education partners to support students’ career-related learning needs and employers’ talent development needs with strategic investments throughout students’ P-20 experience for academic and career success.
