The UC San Diego Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor (formal title Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment). Teaching Professors are full members of the academic senate and are eligible for Security of Employment, analogous to tenure. Teaching Professors have an increased emphasis on teaching, while maintaining an active program of educational and/or disciplinary scholarship.

Successful candidates will be outstanding educators and should provide evidence of effective and innovative undergraduate teaching in electrical and computer engineering. In addition to teaching core courses, candidates are expected to lead the development and assessment of new educational initiatives, including applying for grants related to education and their scholarship efforts. The successful candidate will provide guidance, leadership, and innovation for the ECE undergraduate programs, with a specific focus on adding to the high quality and broadening the diversity of the student body in these programs. In addition to the highest standards of scholarship, teaching, and professional activity, successful candidates for this position will have potential or demonstrated contributions to a climate that supports equity, inclusion, and diversity.

ECE is part of the Jacobs School of Engineering committed to building an excellent, diverse and inclusive faculty, staff and student body.
