Description
IT Administrator/Analyst II 
The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work, through the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service (SWORPS) is accepting applications for an IT Administrator/Analyst II—IT Database Administrator. This position will independently work with State government and other grantors to design and implement solutions as part of SWORPS’ application development team.  While the position will focus on advanced SQL Server database administration, the candidate will also design, code, test, implement, and support web-based database applications, data reporting, business analytics and other technological solutions.  This position meets with internal and external customers to create product specifications, implement solutions, and maintain customer relationships.  Other duties as required.



Qualifications
Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Database administration and reporting

  • Independently develop and maintain databases using Microsoft SQL Server, mySQL, and other products
  • Perform advanced database administration for existing enterprise-level database products
  • Assess data security needs and protect data integrity, privacy, and security
  • Create database designs, stored procedures, diagrams, and scripts
  • Work with system administration to provide and protect database environments
  • Create reports, data extracts, visualizations, and dashboard-style data presentations
  • Document database products and create data dictionaries
  • Query writing, report writing
Software and Application Support

    Develop and maintain web based database applications using Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft ASP.net and PHP as part of a development team.Implement and maintain version contraolCreate reports, data extracts, visualizations, and dashboard-style data for use in ASP.Net applications.Work closely with development team, system administrator, and project managers to fulfill database and data needs
Position Requirements:   

Bachelor's Degree

Senior-level database administration skills.  Senior, expert-level ability with Microsoft SQL Server.  Strong Microsoft ASP.NET and SQL Server skills.  Strong knowledge of PHP programming.  Advanced reporting skills, including Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.  Extensive knowledge of database administration, stored procedures, scripting, dashboard reporting and data visualization.  Strong demonstrable knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.  Ability to work independently in a team environment and collaborate effectively in a fast paced development environment.  Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge of Tableau, Telerik, and/or other reporting and analytics tools.  Ability to design dashboard type reporting products and data visualizations using a variety of products, including ArcGIS and other mapping technologies.  Ability to use analytic techniques for work with data.  Knowledge of cybersecurity assessment techniques, NIST 800 series requirements, and product documentation techniques.  Proven skill with full life cycle product development and database administration.
