Job Summary

The Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology will initially be responsible for teaching on-campus and online capable Engineering Technology courses. These courses may be in the fields of aerospace drafting, drafting, electronics, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, and quality technology, depending on need and HLC credentialing. Successful candidate should be willing to incorporate project-based learning, innovation, and hands on learning within engineering technology classrooms. The successful applicant will also assist in student recruiting and advisement.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering Technology; Or an Associate degree in Engineering Technology and 5 years experience as an Engineering Technologist with related certifications; Or professional licensure and/ or Certifications with 15 years experience in Engineering Technology.

Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college. Engineering Technology Industry experience or a combination of certifications, licensure, and industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred) Terminal degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering-related field; or Master's degree in Engineering Technology or related Engineering field or 18 graduate-level hours in Engineering Technology or Engineering-related field. Prefer teaching experience at the community college or university level.
