Job Details
Under general direction from the Executive Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Senior Budget Officer, provides planning, support, and implementation for: budget, forecast, and project pro forma development; cash and debt management/compliance; investment and financial statement analysis; maintenance of insurance policies and claims processing; and financial/administrative assignments for federal grants and contracts, among other assigned duties.
Examples of DutiesOther duties may be assigned.• Financial planning and analysiso Support annual financial planning cycle, including support in the development of University operating expense, capital, and revenue budgets.o Assist in interim financial forecasting compilation and review processo Participate in departmental and functional reviews of actual versus budgeted resultso Assist individual Departments to address budget compilations/results/concernso Support financial modeling as requiredo Assist in managing financial planning software• Support for Treasury and Debt Serviceso Cash management and reportingo Investment analysiso Debt compliance reporting • Support for Grant Administrationo Maintain compliant and timely financial reporting for grants and awardso Participate in pre and post award research and reportingo Set-up financial software to facilitate accounting/reporting for new grantso Review and monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and time/effort submissions for grantso Actively engage with PIs/Co-PIs to ensure grant complianceo Establish and maintain best practices for grant procedures• Projects and duties as assignedo Including a multitude of survey reportingo Policy documentation, development, and improvementso Risk management operations including, but not limited to, maintenance of insurance policies and claim processing/managementTypical QualificationsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Respects and adheres to confidentiality practices and standards. Works independently with excellent time management, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Financial/Administrative experience with federal grants and contracts is preferred. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Supplemental InformationAn AS in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required with 2-4 years applicable experience. BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred and can supplement 2-4 years of experience. Experience in a multi-department environment is a plus. Non-profit and general ledger experience desired. Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of GAAP preferred.
