Academic Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs (APVPAA)
Arkansas Tech University, located in Russellville in the scenic Arkansas River Valley, invites applications and nominations for Academic Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs (APVPAA). The successful candidate will report to ATU President Dr. Robin E. Bowen.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the academic program of one of the four largest universities in the state and continue ATU's growth as a leader for students in STEM fields. ATU provides both graduates and the state with a valuable resource for the future. It will be crucial for a new APVPAA to bring expertise and commitment to the continued development of the university's focus on teaching, innovation, civic engagement and student access. The successful candidate for ATU APVPAA will be expected to continue progress on the implementation of the ATU 2025 Strategic Plan.
The APVPAA is the chief academic officer for the university, reports directly to the president and is responsible for all teaching, research and service functions of the colleges and faculty. The APVPAA is a member of the president's ATU Executive Council representing academics and has nine direct reports.
Candidates must demonstrate a history of academic leadership which will include the ability to make significant positive contributions to the senior leadership team. The next APVPAA will be charged with supporting the deans in the development and implementation of new academic programs to serve ATU's students and the wider community. Financial acumen will be important for the management of the budget and for supporting the financial well-being of the university. An understanding of and support for micro-credentialing and for the two-year programs of the Ozark campus will also be crucial.
