Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach courses for undergraduate students, with emphasis on nutrition.
Provide subject matter expertise to support the nutrition minor, ensuring that industry standards are embedded in courses and that student learning outcomes (aligned to standards) are achieved.
Demonstrate evidence of leadership/scholarship/ involvement with emphasis on impact of nutrition in diverse communities and community organizations.
Support student learning and development through academic rigor, coaching and mentoring ef Provides prompt and meaningful feedback to students in a fair, objective, and consistent manner, using established rubrics and clear grading criteria.
Submits assignment and course grades by imparted timelines.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong Public Health professional skills Must demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the university’s commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
Education and Experience:
Doctorate in Public Health, Nutrition or related health field, or at least a minimum of a Master's Degree in same. A minimum of 2 years field experience in nutrition and health, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year successful teaching and academic experience. Proven ability to engage students in active learning to meet required course and program outcomes.
Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:
PhD in Public Health
Social determinants of health or health equity teaching and/or research, practice experience
1-3 years of teaching experience (in person and online)
Track record of collaboration, publications and/or relevant grant funding is highly desired but not required
