Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Effectively deliver curricular content.

Provide career and academic advising to students and visit that plan each semester to measure the progress and bring changes accordingly

Collect, record, evaluate, maintain, and submit accurate class records and student progress in classes according to the institutional and department learning outcomes

Serve as mentor on students Integrative Learning Experience (ILE) projects

Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of course syllabi, program outlines, handouts, etc.

Participate in program planning, curricular development, revision, and changes

Participate in college and university level service committees

Participate in departmental/institutional recruitment and retention events

Contribute to program accreditation maintenance and compliance

Be familiar with Institutional policies and procedures, as well as those of the department

Be familiar with the affairs of the department

Participate in graduation, consecration programs

Promote collaborative and inclusive work environment and classroom

Maintain a positive work ethic by adhering to the assigned schedule, reporting to work as mandated by the Institution, meeting classes at the assigned time,  keeping posted office hours, and being prepared

Improve teaching skills by seeking new knowledge and maintaining currency in professional competencies

Required Skills/Abilities:

    Computer Literate

 

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

Strong professional skills

 

Education and Experience:

     Applicants must hold a PhD or DrPH degree in Public Health or a closely related field by the time of appointment

 

     Teaching and research interests in public health

 

     ABDs are also encouraged to apply

 

 

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:

    PhD in Public Health

 

    Social determinants of health or health equity teaching and/or research, practice experience

 

     1-3 years of teaching experience (in person and online)

 

    Track record of collaboration, publications and/or relevant grant funding is highly desired but not required
