Department About the Program
The College of Education, School of Teacher Education, at Florida State University Panama City offers a bachelor’s degree program in Elementary Education. The goal of this program is to train teacher candidates for positions in K-6 classrooms with research-based skills and strategies required for success in diverse classrooms. Students in the degree program participate in specialized courses that lead to teacher certification eligibility, Florida Reading and ESOL endorsements, and hands-on experience to prepare them for the classroom.

Responsibilities

We invite applications for a Teaching Faculty position in our Elementary Education Program at the FSU Panama City campus in Panama City, FL. This position is being advertised as a 9- or 12-month, full-time, specialized, non-tenure track teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion and multi-year contracts. The position will begin in Fall 2023. This position will be on-campus at FSU Panama City with in-person instruction and program service responsibilities.

Primary responsibilities are a) teaching math and/or science education undergraduate courses in Elementary Education, b) mentoring and working closely with students, and c) engaging in service to the program and campus. Additional leadership and administrative opportunities are possible, if qualifications allow. Qualifications PhD or EdD in Teacher Education, Elementary Education, Math Education, Science Education, or related field from an accredited institution (must be conferred by start date of the position) with at least 18 graduate hours in math and/or science related coursework.

Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to those with previous university teaching experience who can teach a variety of math and science education courses. Applied practitioner experience in math, science, or STEM education as a K-6 teacher is highly preferred. Additional teaching endorsements, certificates, or specializations in STEM-related areas is also highly preferred.
