Center for Student Engagement

The Center for Student Engagement (CSE) in the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Administrative Specialist.

The CSE creates inclusive and innovative opportunities for students to build connections and create community through meaningful involvement, personal development, and co-curricular learning opportunities to enhance their Volunteer experience.

The Position: The Administrative Specialist provides administrative support to the Center for Student Engagement, supporting daily department operations through coordination and administration of activities, including those pertaining to purchasing, travel, reservations, equipment inventory, assisting with budget tracking, and campus event support. The Center for Student Engagement hosts over 100 campus events annually and provides support to over 400 registered student organizations.



Qualifications
Responsibilities:

    Maintain appointment calendars Prepare and organize meeting filesMake meeting and event preparationsArrange travel and lodging requirements Assist student staff with equipment reservations and front desk operationsAddress questions and concerns from callers and visitorsWork with students and staff to obtain information needed for procurement card processingServe in a liaison capacity to the student organization finance team to assist with budget records management and expenditure trackingProvide support for committeesPrepare correspondence, reports, and other university documentsCompose and/or edit written correspondence and digital presentations Supports daily department operations through coordination and administration of activities including those pertaining to the development of internal policies and proceduresAssist with program set up, clean up, and programs operations; such as event check-in, line management, and safetyMaintain records on event attendance and programs details for external reporting Provide support for the Student Organization Travel Fund allocation committee

What We Require

Education: High School Diploma or GED 

Experience: Two (2) years administrative support experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Organization, listening, and communication skillsAbility to prioritize and execute tasksCustomer service skillsAbility to manage details within an office settingKnowledge of FERPA compliance and policiesAbility to adhere to confidentiality of records and informationTechnology and software management skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, IRIS, etc.)
What We Prefer:

Education: Associate's Degree 

Experience:

    Two (2) years administrative support experience in a higher education settingExperience in crisis managementExperience as an executive assistant
Salary: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a standard university benefits package. This is an non-exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position.
