Department The Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies (ISLT) program in the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems at Florida State University (FSU) is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

The ISLT program at FSU is one of the first in the world to offer graduate degrees in the field. The current program offers MS, EdD, and PhD degrees as well as several graduate certificates. ISLT has a strong focus on instructional systems design, emerging learning technologies, and performance improvement. We prepare practitioners to analyze complex learning and performance problems and to design, develop, and evaluate appropriate solutions to improve learning and performance. We also prepare scholars to identify and pursue important research questions and conduct rigorous studies on learning and performance. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to:

    Maintain a robust program of research in instructional systems and learning technologies, including publishing in top-tier journalsDevelop and teach graduate-level courses in online, face-to-face, and blended learning environmentsMentor graduate students and advise doctoral dissertations Pursue external funding opportunitiesPlay an integral role in collaborating with colleagues, students, and alumni to maintain a strong program community and identityProvide leadership and service to the program, department, college, and profession
Qualifications Candidates for this position are required to have an earned doctorate in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies or a closely related field from an accredited university. The successful candidate should have a clearly articulated research focus with a record of peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and external funding, as appropriate to the time in field. The candidate should also have experience teaching in online, blended and/or face-to-face settings and should be adept at teaching and designing instruction using a wide variety of learning technologies. ABD candidates can be considered if they will have their degree conferred no later than August 2023.

Preferred Preference will be given to candidates with:

    Ability to teach courses in two or more of the following areas: instructional systems design, emerging technologies, performance improvement, project management, program evaluation Experience teaching a diverse and international student body
