Duties and Responsibilities :

Teaches twelve (12) undergraduate hours (4 courses) per semester. Engage in multiple service related activities such as student advising, including mentoring and service at the departmental, school, college, professional, and community levels. This is a full-time contractual faculty position to start Fall 2023.

Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of due diligence background check and verification of credentials. Proof of US citizenship or eligibility for U.S. employment will be required prior to employment (Immigration Control Act of 1986).

Experience:

Applicants should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, student advising, and student mentoring. Preference with be given to candidates with a minimum of eight years teaching core criminal justice courses and evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level. Candidates must be committed to working with diverse populations and be conversant in multicultural issues.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of experience teaching lower-level criminal justice courses within our criminal justice curriculum such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Introduction to Law Enforcement, Advanced Criminal Procedures, and American Courts.

Education:

Ph.D. or Master Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Justice Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

Preferred Qualifications: Specialization area open with research interests and experiences in Drugs and Crime, Criminal Procedure, Criminology, Social Justice, or Community-Based Corrections.
