Organizational Unit Overview:

Office of Research & Innovation provides a “One Stop Shop” for the College of Education to foster individual and collaborative research and innovation excellence. The Office of Research & Innovation engages with faculty to provide support, guidance, resources, and connections to help nurture and implement their ideas, achieve desired outcomes, and insure impact.

Job Duties :

Supports the College of Education with creative endeavor and entrepreneurial concept/proposal development assistance. Primary purpose of the position is to increase external funding competitiveness from concept through submission to a sponsor for entrepreneurial efforts and support the development of creative endeavor that fall outside typical research grants. This position will identify funding opportunities, liaise with appropriate stakeholders, and assist faculty with creative endeavor and entrepreneurial development, including the navigation of intellectual property issues.

Job Duties:

Administration (40%) includes identification and dissemination of opportunity information; reviewing, interpreting, and applying guidelines for proposal development, assisting faculty and departments with administrative and financial preparation of application packages and budgets; and coordinating proposal submission.

The Management (60%) portion of the Creative Endeavor and Entrepreneurial Development Research Associate involves coordinating large interdisciplinary/multi-stakeholder proposals with internal and external constituents and liaises with the Office of Research Administration, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Office of Research Integrity and Compliance, and the Office of Licensing and Commercialization to ensure timely and efficient proposal submission, management, and compliance. He/she works in a management/leadership role with the Assoc. Dean for Research and college and departmental units in development and implementation of institution-wide policies necessary to maintain compliance and to ensure meaningful and consistent pre-award management of creative endeavors and entrepreneurial efforts. The Creative Endeavor and Entrepreneurial Development Research Associate serves on institutional committees and participates in institution-wide special projects. He/she develops and disseminates reports on theCOE Office of Research & Innovation activity.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Terminal degree (PhD, EdD, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

Experience with grant writing and grant processes.
