Job Description:

ECU Department of SA Intercultural Affairs is currently seeking several student Program Assistants as part of the LWCC CULTURE Board for the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center.
Students will provide support for programs/events by the LWCC and specifically the following:-Barbershop Talks (usually on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon). The Barbershop Talks is a leadership series which helps male-identified students from underrepresented backgrounds to connect and share experiences.-What’s the Tea (usually on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon). This is a discussion series that encourages civil discourse on various hot topics.-ALANA Workshops (usually on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon). The A.L.A.N.A. Workshop Series provides academic and professional development initiatives and is geared toward students from underrepresented backgrounds and first-generation students to assist them with acclimation to the ECU campus and beyond.Students will perform general office duties which include, but are not limited to:
-answering phone calls
-filing, copying, faxing
-welcoming guests to the facility
-assisting with marketing events through the use of social media, creating flyers
-working with staff and cultural student organizations on campus to create programs for various heritage months and cultural programming needs on campus.

Students will help with the general up keeping of the office to ensure it’s neat and ready for meetings/events. Students must demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse groups of people to help create an environment of inclusion (especially in regard to race, sex, gender, age, religious/spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, etc.). Students will maintain a professional demeanor and help to maintain the office.

This is a position for an average of 10 hours per week at a rate of $10/hr. Hours will be worked between Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with additional hours as needed for special programs.
