Temporary / Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm


Position Summary:

Examples of clients supported and degree of client interaction: Volunteers supporting various areas including, Spiritual Care, Community support, Hospital Based Volunteers, Journey to Better Health, and the Claudia Mayer Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center to enhance a positive patient experience and improve the health of the community.


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Experience over and above the work experience requirement may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree on a 2:1 basis (8 years).

Department Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
    1. Volunteer experience preferred
    2. Experience facilitating orientations/trainings, preferred.
    3. Patience and ability to show tact and diplomacy in dealing with volunteers.
    4. Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to volunteers and hospital staff requests.
    5. Value and respect for people of all ages and backgrounds (spiritual, cultural, and educational).

Work Experience:

At least two (2) years of experience coordinating volunteers or related experience preferred.

Experience in data entry and management.

  1. Requires high level of interpersonal skills and ability to analyze situations.
  2. Demonstrates ability to analyze, plan, and organize multiple projects or responsibilities.
  3. Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information and situations.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to interact with diverse groups of people, exchange information, and produce written correspondence.
  5. Ability to influence and negotiate individual and group decision making.
  6. Ability to maintain composure in high stress situations: handling multiple demands and demonstrating flexibility in adapting to changing conditions.
  7. Analytical ability is required in order to complete assigned tasks, gather and interpret data from different sources, and resolve problems.
  8. Proficiency in MS Office and Internet
  9. Must operate PC, general office and communications equipment
