SMU Dedman School of Law continues to strive to develop the next century of leaders.About the Position:This role is an on-campus, in-person position.The Associate Director of Admissions recruits and counsels prospective and admitted law students; reviews and recommends action on law school applications; administers a national student recruiting program and on-campus programs; oversees the comprehensive yield framework; and manages the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office.Essential Functions:
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s is required. Master's degree or J.D is strongly preferred.A minimum of five (5) years of experience is required. Candidate with work experience in the practice of law and/or law school admissions is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency with word processing software and Excel. Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Physical and Environmental Demands:

- Reviewing applications, making recommendations for admission. Coordinate and act as point person with LSAC on updates to ACES2 system. Generate reports in ACES2 and provide updates. Process all admissions and scholarship decisions. Overseeing and the implementation of our comprehensive yield framework, including: admitted student contacts, admitted student website, admitted student events (on-campus and remote), and admitted student materialsRecruiting activities – on/off campus events, presentations, outreach to pre-law advisors and community organizationsManage day-to-day operations, including acting on Assistant Dean's directives, coordinating/overseeing day to day activities of staff and student workers, including training as neededCounsel prospective and admitted students in person, by phone, and in writing, which requires familiarity with a broad range of topics such as the law school admissions process, financial aid, academic programs, legal education, the legal profession, employment opportunities/outcomes, and other informationOversee and direct website and other marketing and yield initiatives.
