Job Summary

Provide comprehensive and strategic human resources administrative support to multiple independent departments, which are diverse and complex. Administers all HR-related functions in adherence to Institute human resources policies. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will regularly interact with Senior leadership, faculty, Institute HR leadership, and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Senior leadership, faculty, Institute HR leadership, and staff. This position will supervise: Assigned staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Provide input to unit strategic planning efforts with regard to human resources to include but not limited to organizational planning, restructuring, and communications.

Job Duty 2 -

Coordinate the investigation and resolution of human resource-related issues.

Job Duty 3 -

Provide HR Leadership, consultation, and training to unit management and staff.

Job Duty 4 -

Serve as an HR representative, ensuring proper exchange of information between the unit and Office of Human Resources (OHR) and other administrative offices across the Institute.

Job Duty 5 -

Oversee and coordinate human resources-related activity within representative units, including employment, employee relations, compensation/benefits, etc.

Job Duty 6 -

Ensure proper documentation of hiring administration, job advertisements, employee development/discipline, and other related HR functions.

Job Duty 7 -

Ensure consistent practice and application of policies and procedures related to HR and applicable state and federal laws.

Job Duty 8 -

Research, propose, develop, and implement policies, administrative practices, and software solutions to support more efficient and strategic HR practices.

Job Duty 9 -

Served as division's representative to the Institute level human resources organization, serving on committees and providing policy input.

Job Duty 10 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications

This position will require extensive knowledge of the Faculty Hiring process (Tenure Track and non Tenure Track, PT Lecturers, Visiting Research Professors, etc.), GT-TRACS, and Tenure and Promotions.

Required Experience

Eight to ten years of job-related experience

Master's Degree

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Certifications through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM)

The successful candidate for this role will have a broad understanding of Faculty Hiring, GT-TRACS, and the Tenure and Promotions functions.

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $80,413 - $105,000/yr

Job Grade: A11

SKILLS

This job requires advanced knowledge of human resource administrative policies and procedures as well as human resources related federal and state regulatory requirements; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build strong professional and cross-functional relationships with organization management, staff, and campus units; excellent verbal and written communications and organization; working knowledge of common office applications and software.
