Perform a variety of technical tasks in the construction, operation and maintenance of standard electronics equipment and instruments.
- Schedule and perform a variety of tests to ensure fire alarm systems are operating correctly. Complete detailed inspection reports based on inspections and recommend corrective action. Trouble shoot fire alarm system components and make necessary repairs to the electronic systems as necessary.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules. Communicate with staff and leadership about interruptions with Fire Alarm systems and their associated equipment. Ability to work individually and with others on completing tasks and duties assigned is required.
- Install or upgrade various fire alarm systems as necessary. Obtain proposals and prepare purchase orders for new parts and supplies. Maintain records and documentation on status and location of all electronic parts and equipment.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training: Work requires a background in Electronics normally acquired through a two-year Associate degree program in Electronics Technology or NICET level 1 certification to become familiar with electronic equipment and experimental devices and apparatus common to an electronics repair facility.
Experience: Credit for directly related experience is given on a two for one basis (i.e. four years of related experience are required in lieu of an Associate Degree & NICET certification). OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Skills: Use of Microsoft office suite is required and knowledge of NFPA 72 code. Knowledge of supervised circuits, Class A and Class B required. Ability to read electrical plans and schematics, work on ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., must have a valid driver license, and be able to respond to emergency calls.
