Job Description:
  1. DATA REQUEST MANAGEMENT (35%)
    A primary role for this position is to coordinate multiple research projects as prioritized by the Informatics Division and as required by DSS. Specifically, the incumbent in this position will:
  2. Respond in a timely manner to data requests
  3. Manage queue of incoming data requests

  • Coordinate and communicate with clinical data translation experts to identify data

  • Follow department guidelines to ensure that the minimum amount of data is released to fulfill research data requests
  • PROGRAMMING AND DATA MANAGEMENT
    Use Python, SQL, Git, and/or other database/analytical software platforms at an expert level of proficiency to work with and analyze data. Additional expertise in custom software and databases will be important for successful completion of analyses.
  • DATA QUALITY
    The IDR provides secure, consistent, and reliable data for UF researchers. The person in this position must uphold and defend the highest standards of data quality.
  • Create and execute the organizations' strategy for improving and maintaining research data quality.
  • With the IDR team, define, establish, and manage a dictionary of data quality definitions and rules consistent with unit and organizational priorities.
  • Support a consistent ontology.
  • Define data quality metrics in collaboration with Quality Leaders and the Informatics Division, and establish processes to measure and monitor them continuously.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage communications related to positive and negative data quality.
  • Work with IDR team and IT partners to prevent and remediate identified quality issues using manual and automated solutions.
  • QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
    The person in this position will be responsible for selecting and applying appropriate analytical methods to answer questions as specified by clinical researchers, administrators and clinicians. This will require expertise in database understanding and data ontology practice. The incumbent will interact with a range of experts in database modeling, machine learning, event simulation, and other advanced analytic processes.
  • WRITTEN ANALYTIC REPORTS
    Using software tools for business intelligence and analytics (e.g., SAP product stack), word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and organizational analyses (e.g., Microsoft Office products), provide reports of analyses to decision makers.
  • PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED


  • Expected Salary:

    $75,000 - $90,000

    Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, information systems, or related field and four years of relevant experience.

    Must demonstrate experience with database design, reporting tools, and project management as well as a familiarity with the health care information system industry.

    Must demonstrate experience with EMR systems (such as Epic) and data design.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in machine learning techniques: Python, R Studio
  • In-depth knowledge of source-control techniques (Git)
  • Experience with data integration and business intelligence software (SAP product stack)
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of clinical research
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to work effectively and independently
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
