(Contingent upon available funding): 15.52 - 15.52, Hourly Work Schedule: Varies, includes some evenings and weekends Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Job Summary:Responsible for a broad rangeof services including, but not limited to, supervision of circulation deskstaff, handling course reserves, maintaining stacks, and working in the fulfillmentportion of the library management system. Involves maintaining handouts, bothphysically and digitally, gathering and analyzing library usage statistics,preparing overdue notices and working with resource sharing. It requires exercisingsignificant independent judgment, operating within a busy environment withfrequent interruptions while monitoring multiple library functions andsubstantial knowledge of library systems and procedures. Must be able to workevenings and weekends as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Participate in group and individual training in the use of the library management system and discovery service as well as the online databases.
Perform all fulfillment services, including loans and returns of all materials, produce and send overdue notices, establish replacement costs and notify patrons, notify Business Services of outstanding library obligations, register patrons, and maintain confidentiality of user records.
Interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise work study students.
Create and maintain online and in-person training for work study students and library assistants.
Supervise circulation staff and work study students in their performance of: including, but not limited to, fulfillment activities, stack maintenance, and public service.
Maintain accuracy of collection by leading the inventory process on a regular basis.
Answer questions about library services and procedures; aid in the use of library resources; and, when necessary, refer visitors to appropriate personnel for additional service.
Maintain the course reserves/textbook collection by working with faculty to ensure the library has the correct textbooks each semester and keep the records accurate in the library management system.
Oversee all Interlibrary Loan (ILL) transactions, including locating sources for requested materials, processing requested materials, applying appropriate protocols and library policies, and maintain statistics for all ILL activity.
Oversee and maintain statistics for the OK-Share Card program.
Regularly update policies and procedures for fulfillment and ILL services.
Maintain library-related documents.
Gather and compile library usage statistics for door counts, number and types of questions answered, and number of library lessons.
Gather usage statistics for online resources and the library website.
Regularly edit the library website to ensure accurate information.
Work with librarians to create and maintain Research Guides.
Schedule the use of the equipment in the collaboration rooms.
Provide staff training in the use of the fulfillment portion of the library management system as well as other topics as needed.
Perform troubleshooting in the library management system and work to keep it running properly.
Maintain the discovery side of the library management system.
Troubleshoot computer, copier, and printer issues.
Complete all mandatory training and participate in a minimum of two professional development activities each year as well as additional online or live classes.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:
- Relevant work experience with supervisory responsibilitiesOne year of library experience.
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, including apps for collaborative work on various documents; Adobe products.
Office experience requiring attention to detail and organizational and quantitative skills
- Excellent customer service skills and strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, and duties of supervisors and managers.
Ability to train, direct, and supervise staff; including, but not limited to being responsive to needs and providing consistent and fair evaluations.
Ability to communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff, and community partners; giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Accurate typing/data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy.
Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately.
Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, performing internet searches, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- Two or more year’s library work experience.
Knowledge in the use of library management systems for work in fulfillment, user management, discovery services, and configurations.
Experience in the creation of online and in-person training.
Working on Masters of Library and Information Studies or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often busy and noisy environment.
Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
Position requires repetitive desk to counter mobility.
Typical library environment – various working areas may be dusty.
Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
