The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) welcomes applications for multiple tenure-track assistant professor positions in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering with a focus on cloud computing, computer architecture and systems, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, and related areas. Candidates with exceptional research portfolios may also be considered at a higher rank.
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at FAU consists of 44 faculty and 5 staff members and has a student body of over 1,000 undergraduate and 350 graduate students. EECS offers baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The department also currently offers MS degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Bioengineering, and Information Technology and Management. The department’s current active funding portfolio is over $15.0M, with support from federal funding agencies such as NSF, NIH, DoD, DoE, and DARPA, as well as Industry. The FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science is in the top three fastest progressing engineering colleges in the nation (US News and World Report Rankings 2020-2022) and is internationally recognized for cutting edge research and education in the areas of computer science, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, computer engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering and biorobotics, civil, environmental and geomatics engineering, mechanical engineering, and ocean engineering. Applicants must have a doctorate degree in Computer Science or related field and are expected to demonstrate a strong research record commensurate to their rank.
