Lyle School of Engineering, founded in 1925, is one of the oldest engineering schools in the Southwest. The school offers eight undergraduate and 29 graduate programs, including master’s and doctoral degrees, through the departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Computer Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Operations Research and Engineering Management. Lyle students participate in programs in the unique Deason Innovation Gym, providing the tools and space to work on immersion design projects and competitions to accelerate leadership development and the framework for innovation; the Hart Center for Engineering Leadership, helping students develop nontechnical skills to prepare them for leadership in diverse technical fields; the Caruth Institute for Engineering Education, developing new methodologies for incorporating engineering education into K-12 schools; and the Hunter and Stephanie Hunt Institute for Engineering and Humanity, combining technological innovation with business expertise to address global poverty.About the Position:This role is an on-campus, in-person position.A vibrant Lyle School of Engineering relies on an ample and excellent graduate and undergraduate body of students. The Lyle Director of Recruiting is responsible for recruiting and matriculating graduate and undergraduate students to the Lyle school in pursuit of fiscal stability and academic excellence. The Director will grow, develop and lead a team of professionals to execute on this vision. Execution of all aspects of the student recruiting funnel, from lead generation, through the application process to matriculation closure, will be the responsibility of this individual. We seek a Director who shares our values of a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace based on collaborative teamwork, personal initiative, and a commitment to consistency and excellence.Essential Functions:
Qualifications
Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five years of university work experience in admissions or recruiting is required. Experience in building recruiting relationships through corporate partners is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of academic programs at the university level is required.Candidate must possess the ability to appreciate the nuances of engineers and engineering fields. Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills including the proper use of spelling, grammar and punctuation, with the ability to produce error-free communications.Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Candidate must demonstrate good strategic skills in drafting effective marketing plans. Knowledge of CRM software is required. Knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferred. Physical and Environmental Demands:

- Responsible for management and performance of Lyle Graduate and Undergraduate Recruiting Office activities and staff.Development, management and execution of recruitment and marketing strategy and plans for all undergraduate and graduate programs (including traditional, executive format, weekend format, and distance).Development and management of department budget including the use of scholarship funds to manage matriculation.Global travel as needed to recruit prospective Lyle students at all levels.Strategic oversight and development of new recruiting activities and materials; enlistment of faculty and staff to participate in recruiting activities.Collaborate with Director of Development to develop and engage with young alumni to increase relations of this population which can lead to an increased donor base.Create strategic plan, working with the Dean's office to pro-actively identify new areas of recruitment focus and attention, including in-depth analysis and reporting on new targeted recruiting areas.Create, maintain and deliver data reporting to the Dean's office related to undergraduate and graduate student recruitment efforts. Track applications and enrollment numbers to provide up to date information related to student enrollment trends. Work closely with central admissions on engineering student admissions related activities. Use this data to continually improve new student recruiting and yield.Special projects and other duties as assigned.Occasional evening/weekend hours are required.
