Job Overview

The Alumni House Operations Manager is a vital member of the Alumni Engagement team and serves as a critical resource and representative of Georgetown University and the Georgetown University Alumni Association (GUAA) for our 200,000+ alumni, volunteers, donors, University administrators, staff, and students. The role performs complex administrative duties and manages business and facilities operations for both the Alumni House and Reed Residence, coordinates event space rentals and logistics, and assists in the management of Association and Advancement budgets.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Georgetown University Alumni Association, the Alumni House Operations Manager works closely with members of the Alumni Engagement, Development, Annual Fund, and Stewardship teams, as well as with university and Alumni Association leadership. As well, they interact with the alumni community, volunteers, donors, University administrators, staff, students, and outside vendors.

They receive guidance/supervision on new assignments, but normally works independently on mastered tasks; and may work independently or as part of a team for special or ongoing projects; and perform more complex aspects of function.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working in an office environment - preference for higher education experience and/or facilities management
  • Strong customer service focus and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use tact and poise when dealing with high profile alumni
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite & QuickBooks
  • Detail orientation and conscientious in rapidly responding to alumni inquiries or concerns
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned goals
  • High energy level and enthusiasm for Georgetown University and the Jesuit values
  • Availability and willingness to work alumni and student events on evenings and weekends
