The Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts (HSSA) at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Geography to begin August 2023. (Exceptional candidates with advanced experience may be considered for appointment at a higher academic rank.) By the time of appointment, candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Geography, with a concentration in Human Geography, Cultural Geography, or a related field, and show evidence of or demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. The ideal candidate will teach World Geography and a broad range of undergraduate courses, including regional and cultural geography, and will have the opportunity to create new electives based on their research and teaching interests. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate meaningful contributions to their academic field. The ability to contribute to the Institute’s and the department’s existing global programs and to develop the department’s area studies minors, International Studies Certificate, and International Studies Major is strongly preferred.  Candidates should exhibit an ability to advance the department's commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals and activities.
