Earlham College is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our team!
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for directing and coordinating Human Resources services and related activities,including the Customer service to all employee’s and visitors, assisting with the administration of all day to day benefits, applicants and new hires.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Maintains employees’ files by recording hire, transfer, termination, change in job classifications, and merit increases.
Assists with administration of employee benefit program including medical insurance and disability programs. Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
Ensures all office communication is professional
Manages the office supplies and ensures the office equipment is maintained and working properly.
Additional duties as assigned
Associates degree required. Bachelors degree and SHRM Certification preferred
2 or more years of experience in Human Resources and/or Talent Management
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS and/or Talent Management Systems
Works with hiring managers and job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and maintains knowledge of trends, and HR best practices
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage highly confidential information and materials
Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, strongly preferred, not required.
