The Opportunity:

The College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida (UF) department of Media Production, Management and Technology (MPMT) is establishing a pool of applicants for possible adjunct positions teaching video production courses.

Most courses are offered on campus in Gainesville, Florida. This pool of applicants could be drawn upon to provide staffing when needed and to provide special teaching expertise when needed.

Given these criteria, this pool will only be assessed when an adjunct opportunity arises. Possible adjunct opportunities could include teaching a course(s) in any of the areas of study offered by MPMT. If an adjunct opportunity arises, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

About UF Media Production, Management, and Technology (MPMT) Department

The CJC Media Production, Management, and Technology (formerly Telecommunication) program is one of the most comprehensive in the country. Our department focuses on media processes and their effects, including content creation and storytelling, distribution, management, the audience/user experience and the roles played by technology, regulation, social media and the industry at large. We have specializations in Digital Film and Video Production, Management and Strategy and Media and Society.

About the College of Journalism and Communications (CJC)

The College of Journalism and Communications has 74 full-time faculty members, 87 full-time staff and approximately 500 other classifications including but not limited to: Graduate Assistants, Post-Doc Associates, Adjunct Instructors, Student Assistants, and Other Personnel Services (OPS).

CJC has a total of four undergraduate academic departments: Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations, and Media Production, Management and Technology. Expected Salary:

$4,000 per 3-credit course

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field with additional training and/or professional experience that equates and/or parallels the artistic development expected for professional level work.
Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills. Experience in video production including the use of cameras, microphones and lighting for fiction and or non-fiction storytelling. Experience with Adobe Premiere editing software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. MA/MFA/MBA or PhD in a related field.
  2. Professional experience with Canon cinema cameras and lenses.
  3. Professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications such as After Effects and Photoshop.
