Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

  • At least 3 years of budget management experience in a professional setting, utilizing financial software for transactions and reporting.
  • Experience in a professional role in which it was necessary to communicate with various stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience as a hiring assistant/recruiter that utilized a platform which included job postings and applicant tracking.
  • Working knowledge, and extensive use in a professional role, of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and especially Excel.
  • High school diploma or GED, plus at least 5 years of experience in a professional office setting, performing administrative and financial duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • A current/former TXST employee with experience using SAP for financial and/or HR tasks.
  • Working knowledge of post-award grant management.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with extensive use of online file storage and data sharing in a workplace setting.
  • Understanding of public university policies and procedures.
  • Previous work titles related to “budget”, “financial”, and/or “payroll”.

Job Description:

Assist Department Chair, staff, and faculty with all budget-related matters, to include budget development and management, purchasing, payments, personnel hiring, and payroll.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain department personnel files in SAP system, including onboarding of new hires and updates to job titles, pay rates, fte changes, and funding sources.
  • Process purchasing and accounts payable transactions, such as setting up purchase orders, monitoring the department credit card activity, submit for reimbursements to employees, and process payments to vendors.
  • Serve as department timekeeper.
  • Manage multiple budgets – salary, operating, and research budgets. Budget management includes budget line adjustments, transfers between budgets, calculations of salaries and fringes, forecasting expenditures, and preparing financial reports.
  • Assist with budget development as it pertains to salaries and expenditures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
